Meet Elizabeth

Liz's knowledge of the community and extensive real estate and business experience will prove invaluable whether you are buying or selling your home. She holds an Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR) designation and the CNE (Certified Negotiation Expert) designation from the Real Estate Negotiation Institute. Liz is also REI and e-Pro Certified from the National Association of Realtors. She is a member of the All Stars Sales Club and the exclusive $5 to $10 Million Dollar Sales Club.

Always fascinated with architecture and urban planning, Liz parlayed those interests into a career in real estate in New York City after graduating from Smith College. At Hines, a premier international real estate developer, she was a member of a project development team that built an office tower in Midtown Manhattan, then managed numerous other projects for the firm. Subsequently she became a Sales Associate at Douglas Elliman, NY City's #1 luxury real estate firm. Later she joined Morgan Stanley and worked in their Real Estate and Space Planning Group as Project Director, where she was responsible for overseeing the development, design and execution of expansion and renovation projects throughout the Americas.

Liz Thauer and her husband, from Saddle River, were drawn to Ridgewood for its strong community feel and beautiful architecture and aesthetic. After living in many other parts of the country, Liz happily chose to make Ridgewood her home for the past 24 years. Liz has also devoted her time to raising her two young daughters and volunteering in the community. She serves on the board of Social Service Association in Ridgewood (SSA). She is also an active member of St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church, where she serves on the Vestry and has taught Sunday school. She served on the Executive Board of the HSA at Ridge Elementary School, as a committee member in the Woman's Club of Ridgewood, the College Club, and as a Sustaining Member of the Junior League. When she first moved to town, she served on the Board of the Ridgewood Newcomers as Ways and Means Chair and then as Vice President.

Having owned two homes in Ridgewood and managed numerous renovation projects over the years, Liz is no stranger to the challenges of moving and creating the house that you can proudly call home. Moving doesn't have to be one of life's most stressful experiences. Liz's skilled management and marketing talents are the essential elements you need for a successful and smooth transition. Her client testimonials speak for themselves.
