Looking to change up your weekly dinner routine? It's easy to get into the habit of eating at the same restaurants, but trying something new can really broaden your culinary horizons. With new restaurants popping up all over Bergen County, finding a new favorite dish or dining experience is easy. Our real estate agents are always keeping tabs on new restaurants to try, and here is a list of some of our favorites this year.
Ora
304 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell, NJ 07649
Ora means "right now" in Italian, which describes the menu at this new eatery well. It has classic Italian dishes with a modern American twist. You'll love the selection of freestyle Italian, butcher cuts, chops, wood-fired pizzas, and seafood. All menu items are made with fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients. The restaurant has a warm, vibrant glow that creates the perfect backdrop for a fun date or celebration.
Four Leaves
146 Kinderkamack Road, Park Ridge, NJ 07656
This new Park Ridge gastropub is worth a visit. Four Leaves is appropriately named for the four pillars of an excellent dining experience: delicious food, outstanding service, inviting ambiance, and the joy of shared moments. This eatery delivers all of this and more. Choose from several classic American entrees and handcrafted cocktails. Happy hour is 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and features specials on drinks and appetizers.
Black Magic Bake House
19 W. Ridgewood Ave., Ridgewood, NJ 07450
This cozy neighborhood bakery is the place for a good breakfast or a tasty sweet treat. There is a new menu every day at Black Magic Bake House, but you can always depend on the shop to have delicious doughnuts, "cinnies," scones, focaccia, bread, quiche, and cookies. The store is open Thursday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to sell out. Warning: It's a popular weekend spot, and the line can be long. Stop by early to beat the crowd!
Boiling Boys
15 Grand Ave., Palisades Park, NJ 07650
Choose your favorite seafood, sauce, and spice level at Boiling Boys, a new Cajun seafood restaurant with a hint of Korean and bar food. The menu features fresh fish, crab, oysters, clams, mussels, and amazing seafood boils. Most dishes are customizable. The 5,000-square-foot restaurant is lined with big-screen TVs to create a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. Stop by Saturday or Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for bottomless mimosas.
Kernel And Roast
1 E. Ridgewood Ave., Ridgewood, NJ 07450
A "stylish contemporary cafe" will soon be opening its doors right in the heart of downtown Ridgewood.
